WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 10, Episode 13 "What We Become," which aired Sunday on AMC.

The most recent episode of The Walking Dead marked the final appearance of fan-favorite character Michonne. Fortunately, the katana-wielding hero was spared a grisly fate and instead found a new direction after discovering a mysterious message left by none other than her friend and love interest Rick Grimes.

While investigating an abandoned military boat off the coast, Michonne found a cell phone that appeared to have an image of her and Rick's daughter Judith scrawled on to the screen. Meanwhile, below Rick's name was a series of Japanese characters. Now, series showrunner Angela Kang has confirmed the translation of the message.

"Believe a little bit longer," Kang said in response to an email inquiry about the message from Business Insider. Chief Creative Officer Scott Gimple has also confirmed the translation of Rick's apparent message.

Following his departure from the series in the middle of Season 9, series star Andrew Lincoln was confirmed to reprise his role as Rick in a trilogy of films set in the same universe. Michonne finding Rick's message and her journey to discover his whereabouts set up the character to depart from the main series, along with a potential return with Rick in the films.
