With the The Walking Dead franchise giving Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes a trio of films following his exit from the TV show, it appears Lauren Cohan's Maggie Rhee could follow suit. AMC has considered giving Cohan a Maggie-centric spinoff series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cohan has had conversations about returning as Maggie in her own series.

"There may have been some conversations but everything is so early days ambiguous," Cohan said at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. "Me, as much as anybody, we'll have to see what happens." While this Cohan-led spinoff appears to have been discussed behind-the-scenes, it may be some ways off, as Cohan has long expressed a desire to focus on other projects such as Whiskey Cavalier.

Cohan exited The Walking Dead earlier this season, in the same episode where Rick made his final appearance.

In addition to the Rick-centric movies, The Walking Dead's expanded universe will move forward with other spinoffs in the vein of Fear The Walking Dead. Cohan was previously involved in extensive negotiations for this season, with AMC reaching an agreement to write her out as leader of Hilltop. Regarding if or when she'll ever return, she simply said, "We'll see what happens."

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. The series returns for the second half of Season 9 on February 10.
