WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for this week’s episode of The Walking Dead, “The Lost and the Plunderers,” which premiered Sunday night on AMC.
Contrary to persistent fan speculation, The Walking Dead co-star Pollyanna McIntosh insists her Scavenger leader Jadis isn't her on the path to becoming the feared antagonist Alpha from the comic books.
The events of this week's episode of the hit AMC drama, "The Lost and the Plunderers," led CBR to return to the theory that Jadis will eventually become Alpha, leader of the brutal group of survivors known as The Whisperers. But in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McIntosh was asked whether she'd ever spoken to showrunner Scott Gimple about that potential development.
"Of course! I bug him about it all the time!" McIntosh replied. "Well, I’m not gonna tell you! But, no, he’s said publicly and to me, 'It’s a completely different thing. It’s not you.' And I say, 'Fine, OK.'”
McIntosh said that while she loves Alpha, she would rather see see someone else portray the character.
"People really love that character and they are excited to see her and I’d be honored for it to be me," she explained, "but I’d also be thrilled if we could have another great female character come in, and why not have two?"
Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Lennie James as Morgan Jones, Alanna Masterson as Tara Chambler, Josh McDermitt as Eugene Porter, Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan.
