"The Walking Dead" executive producer Gale Anne Hurd will bring to life some of history's most gruesome myths and legends by adapting the "Lore" podcast for television.

The show will be a 10-episode anthology series, featuring a different "Lore" case every week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the formula will be a mix of scripted reenactments, narration, and video footage and images from historical accounts.

The series will be based on one of iTunes most listened to podcasts of 2015, "Lore," which explores the true apparent origins of characters and myths such as vampires, zombies, werewolves, ghosts, serial killers and witches.

Regarding the project Hurd said "I’m excited to partner with Propagate on this truly thrilling and disturbing project. 'Lore' is the real stuff that should keep you up at night."

The trend of adapting podcasts is on the rise, ever since Phil Lord and Chris Miller signed on to adapt the ever popular podcast "Serial."
