The midseason finale for AMC's The Walking Dead revealed that a fatal zombie bite will lead to the death of Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs). Following the episode's initial airing, William Riggs -- Chandler's father --  expressed his displeasure with both AMC and showrunner Scott Gimple over his son's exit from the show.

"Watching Gimple fire my son 2 weeks before his 18th birthday after telling him they wanted him for the next 3 years was disappointing," Riggs' father wrote. The Facebook post has since been deleted or restricted. "I never trusted Gimple or AMC, but Chandler did. I know how much it hurt him. But we do absolutely know how lucky we have been to be a part of it all and appreciate all the love from fans all these years!"

Riggs made the comment through the business account, "Chandler Riggs' Dad's Zombie Roadtrip Riggs' Tours & Autographs."

There has been a lot of speculation about the 18-year-old actor departing the show. Some fans viewed his acceptance to Auburn University last year as proof he would be leaving. Thistheory seemed supported by a cryptic tweet from his father that Carl wouldn't make it out of Walking Dead Season 8 alive. Carl is still alive in the comics as of the series' latest issue, #174.
