WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Walker Episode 4, "Don't Fence Me In," which aired Thursday on The CW.

Racial and immigration politics collide in Walker in Cordell Walker's professional and personal life. As Walker and Micki Ramirez attempt to bond on another patrol, they apprehend Enzo, a member of the Olivados, a gang that's been active throughout Texas for sometime. Enzo is gravely wounded from an earlier encounter with the local sheriff before fleeing the scene of his boss' murder. At a press conference being recognized for the bust, Micki is confronted afterwards by Enzo's daughter Delia and is clearly uncomfortable with her increased time in the spotlight. Later, Micki confides in her boyfriend Trey Barnett that she felt her Latina background was used by her superiors to present a good face with the public in busting a Latino suspect.

As the Walkers continue to move back into the family ranch, August finds a box with some mementos, wearing a baseball cap and hiding a phone, only for his father to snatch the box back, saying it belonged to an old case he worked on. As Walker puts the box in the cellar, he finds old letters written to his mother Abby suggesting that his parents' marriage isn't as stable as he believed. Meanwhile, as part of her court-mandated community service from her marijuana bust, Stella and her best friend Isabel begin working on a ranch where Stella is noticed by a young, cute ranch hand and grows closer to him.

After learning that Enzo passed away from his wounds in custody, Walker and Micki continue their investigation, questioning his daughter and the family of the murder victim at the ranch he worked at. The Texas Rangers are surprised to learn that the ranch owner left his estate to Enzo, who was an apparent loyal employee before the murder. Due to Enzo being the prime suspect, the estate may revert to the rancher's wife, with the impending results of Enzo's autopsy determining his culpability in the murder.

Looking over some sketches with Trey, Micki realizes Enzo was the rancher's illegitimate son and quickly shares her discovery with Walker, and the two confirm this through a DNA test. The rancher's wife reacts defensively to the news, with the Rangers gaining access to security footage from the ranch to learn that she entered a relationship with the sheriff while her husband cut her completely out of his will. While Captain Larry James isn't thrilled with the logistical nightmare of confronting a fellow lawman before him, he agrees that the matter must be investigated further.

With Walker secretly on the phone to overhear, Micki confronts the sheriff while riding along with him with the revelation that Enzo's cause of death was from being bludgeoned by a gun belonging to the crooked cop. The sheriff attempts to kill Micki, but she and Walker stop and arrest him for Enzo's murder. With Enzo cleared, the ranch goes to Delia, and Walker and Micki celebrate a successful case closed over some quality barbecue and bourbon back at headquarters.

As Walker's brother Liam looks into an immigration case for Isabel's parents to prevent them from being deported, he is concerned when he learns Captain James instructed Walker to keep his distance from the evidence. However, Walker has troubles of his own from his recent past: August discovered photos from Walker's past undercover work where he looks the happiest he has ever been. While Walker insists his undercover life is behind him, he discovers that August has been using his undercover persona's phone, with Walker's old contact assuming that the fake identity is back at on the streets.

The latest episode of Walker marked the first without the series resorting to any of its usual flashbacks, as the reboot's main cast begins to move on with their lives. However, while Walker attempts to move forward, his son's natural curiosity will have his undercover life come back to haunt the Texas Ranger in a big way in the immediate future.

Walker stars Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan and Coby Bell. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
