WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Walker Season 2, Episode 4, "It's Not What You Think," which aired Thursday, November 18th on The CW.

While the Walker Season 1 finale revealed that the Walker family ranch was being secretly surveilled by the Northside Nation as the crime syndicate turned its attention to the Texas Ranger. Months later, Walker finally discovered the hidden cameras planted in his own home without tipping off those spying on him, unaware that family rival Dan Miller, a figure married into the Davidsons, was funding access to the surveillance system as part of the feud between the Walkers and Davidsons stretching back for decades. And things finally come to a head over this secret spy network, with not everyone walking away from the resulting incident.

The morning after the chili cook-off, Walker takes his family to the Side Step for breakfast where he privately reveals that he discovered hidden surveillance cameras monitoring them at their home. As the family processes this shocking news, Liam angrily insists this is the latest trick by the Davidsons and gets into a heated shouting match with Walker when the Texas Ranger assumes that the culprits are likely the Northside Nation. Liam notes that none of the evidence they've uncovered about Serrano alludes to illegal surveillance networks while, back at work, Captain Larry James and District Attorney Denise Miller share that they don't have a strong case to prosecute Serrano.

Revealing to his superiors that he is being spied on, likely by Serrano's associates, the group plans to lure out the remaining Northside figures through the Cobie Gambit. The tactic has Walker and Denise act like they've gone crooked while claiming they have actionable evidence on Serrano. As Denise's husband Dan watches, Denise arrives and claims to have a hard drive full of evidence to decisively convict Serrano while she and Walker engage in heavy flirting to sell the deception. As Dan and Denise are in a major rough patch, going as far as to attend marriage counseling together, Dan is incensed while the Northside spy he is working with plans to slip in and steal the hard drive while Walker is distracted.

Geri Broussard stumbles on this scene and assumes that Walker and Denise have rekindled their relationship before awkwardly returning to the bar. Liam joins Captain James and the others as they regroup in between bouts of their charade, revealing that analysts have deduced that the spy network is relatively close to the ranch. While this fuels Liam's suspicions about the Davidsons being behind the surveillance system, Walker and Denise move to root out the hidden cameras. The Northside spy tacitly coerces Dan in remaining behind while he moves to recover the supposed evidence against his boss; once he is a suitable enough distance away, Dan recovers the surveillance network's hard drive, the spy's phone and torches the surveillance station.

While Walker and Denise are distracted by the resulting fire occurring near the ranch, Liam moves to defend his home while Micki Ramirez takes point despite Captain James' insistence she stand down. Micki is clipped by a speeding car and injured, with Captain James admonishing her for her recent reckless streak, while Dan saves Liam's life by fatally shooting the spy when he gets the drop on the younger Walker brother. Visibly shaken by the whole ordeal, Dan claims to have arrived on the property when he noticed the fire and came to Liam's defense when he saw the spy, assuming he was responsible for the arson. Walker thanks Dan for saving his family though Liam continues to harbor his reservations about Dan and the Davidsons.

As the authorities take the surveillance system out of the ranch, they find an old case from their ancestors listing the ranch as their property along with an old map. Stella, who is stressed out about the discovering she has been spied on for some time, bombs her SAT exam, but Dan's son sabotages the whole exam session by triggering the sprinkler system to help her; Stella quietly thanks him for the move afterward knowing he was doing well on his own test. Distraught by the incident, Micki decides she needs to take some time away from it all and clear her head. For his part, Walker finds himself caught in between a rock and a hard place, Liam accusing him of forsaking his own family to side with the Davidsons while Denise is deeply hurt that Walker would suspect her family of being behind the surveillance network in the first place, setting the two families at odds once more.

To see how the family handles this latest development, Walker Season 2 airs Thursdays at 8pm ET/PT, with episodes available to stream on The CW App the following day.
