WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Walker Season 1, Episode 4, "Don't Fence Me In," on The CW.

One of the main themes of the CW's Walker is how the past just can't stay buried, no matter how hard one tries. As Jared Padalecki's Walker tries to move forward, he has a hard time getting over the death of his wife, Emily, which is affecting him on the job. Still, he wants to power through and reconnect with his kids, August and Stella, while proving to his new partner, Micki, he's fit for the job.

Unfortunately, Walker can't escape his sins. They're set to have a dire impact on the Texas Ranger's personal and professional life.

Walker convinces the kids to move back to their old home, but as August unpacks, he finds boxes of old evidence from his dad's cases. As he rummages through, he steals a phone and charges it. He's intrigued, because he has no idea what his dad did when he left them after Emily's death for an undercover job in Las Vegas. From a photo Augie also unearths and develops, he assumes Walker enjoyed this second life a lot more, particularly with a young woman after his mom passed.

He eventually confronts his dad, but Walker makes it clear it's just work. He wasn't into it as much as Augie thinks, although the image with him and the woman looks too cozy for comfort. It gets even more interesting when Augie turns on the burner phone and texts the woman, Twyla.

He doesn't get a response, but when Walker enters his room and finds the phone, Twyla messages back and wants to meet up. It seems she and her crew, fresh out of jail, want to meet Walker/Duke, and the episode ends with him looking shocked.

It's unclear if he really does have feelings for Twyla or if he's in danger after going undercover and helping bust some of the squad. The fact phone contact has been made means she could track Walker down, which means he'll have to become Duke again. Still, it could endanger the family and leaves Walker upset over how they all keep secrets from each other.

It couldn't come at a worse time, as Walker also found letters to his mom from a mysterious man, with her confirming she had an affair. All of this helps to destabilize Walker, who's now scared what other skeletons in the closet and ghosts of old could re-emerge. For now, despite his vulnerable and confused state, he has to focus on Twyla as he senses trouble looming.

Walker stars Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan and Coby Bell. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
