One of the biggest new series coming to The CW in 2021 is Walker, a modern update to the cult classic series Walker, Texas Ranger.

Joining star and executive producer Jared Padalecki is Lindsey Morgan, with both actors originally hailing from the Lone Star State before moving to Los Angeles. Morgan portrays Micki, an Army veteran who becomes one of Texas' first female Rangers and Cordell Walker's new partner. With Walker filmed in Texas, Morgan was joined by several fellow Texans as co-stars, with the production serving as something of a homecoming for the actor.

"It's awesome! It's also pretty crazy because a couple members from the cast are also from Texas. Violet Brinson, who plays Stella, is from Dallas, Kale Culley, who plays Ario, is from Texas, Mitch Pileggi, who plays Bonham, is from Texas. We've had a couple guest stars that are also from Texas," Morgan observed. "I guess I didn't realize it because whenever I meet someone and say I'm from Texas they say I don't have an accent and I don't think I do but I have an energy about me that I didn't realize had so much to do with where I was from until I kind of moved back and have just been in this place and I was like 'Oh yeah! These are my people!'"

Both Morgan and Padalecki previously worked extensively in Canada for their previous CW series The 100 and Supernatural, respectively. For Morgan, the opportunity to return to Texas for a show that celebrates its beauty and culture was a dream come true.

"I spent a lot of time in Canada and also in Los Angeles and I still felt at home but a bit out of place there. And so what's really cool is I feel like I've gotten the chance to go back home and I feel like I've come back very full circle with who I am as a person," Morgan continued. "And getting to represent my hometown and my home state and also the chance to work with other people that have lived here and shared a love for Texas and their experience of being in the South and being in this state and what's it like. It is our own little world, I know it sounds strange or cliche unless you're from here, but it is true."

Fans can next see Lindsey Morgan in Skylines written, directed and produced by Liam O'Donnell and also starring Jonathan Howard, Daniel Bernhardt, Rhona Mitra, James Cosmo and Alexander Siddig. The film is available in select theaters, on demand and digital now.
