Walker, The CW's reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger, began with trouble on the homefront, with one of the series' main cast hinting that he isn't as emotionally stable as he seems.
Kale Culley, who portrays the Texas Ranger's teenage son August, noted that while his character does everything he can to keep family drama to a minimum, he is quietly experiencing deep, internal turmoil. With the family still reeling from the shocking murder of Walker's wife and August's mother Emily, this unresolved trauma may surface explosively sooner rather than later.
"He's a ticking time bomb. Whatever moment it's going to take for him to explode, it's definitely going to show; he has all this stuff going on underneath him," Culley tells CBR. "He's just a ticking time bomb so we'll just have to wait."
In the wake of Emily's murder, Walker buried the grief by taking a dangerous, lengthy undercover assignment that left him separated from his family for nearly eleven months. Upon his return, the lawman found his family emotionally splintered as they coped with the lingering grief following his absence in their own different ways. While August balances his home life and school, the teenager may fall prey to the growing personal pressures that have been steadily building since the start of the series.
Walker stars Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan and Coby Bell. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
