Wake the Dead, Son of the Mask, Garfield: C2F Wrap for August 8, 2003


Varietyreports that comic scribe Steve Niles has sold the rights to yet another comicproperty. Dimension Films has picked up rights to his upcoming IDW book"Wake the Dead" after discovering the book at Comic-Con International.

Ted Adams, president of IDW Publishing will executive produce the movie alongwith Niles.

Niles recently sold the rights to another IDW title, "30 Days ofNight," last year for a seven figure sum. More recently he set up his"Criminal Macabre" book

The "Wake" deal also gives Dimension first look Niles' next IDWtitle, "Remains."


MTVchatted up up Jamie Kennedy about his work on the upcoming "Son of theMask"

"I'm not playing the Jim Carrey character, I'm playing a differentcharacter. ... I play a father," Kennedy told MTV at the recent Teen ChoiceAwards.

Kennedy is set to Tim Avery a cartoonist whose infant son comes intopossession of the mask of Loki. Alan Cumming on board to play Loki.
