Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi has found a silver lining to the film's delay, as he shared in a recent interview.

"There are a few positive things I can take away," the director told Total Film. "One of them is that a lot of these films, and films in general, are rushed, or you don't have as much time as you'd want to have on the script and things like that. We're still writing Love and Thunder, and I think it's good to just keep writing, and then you know, we'll have a really, really good script."

Production on Thor: Love and Thunder was previously planned to begin in the summer of 2020, but has since been delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Meanwhile, due to Marvel Studios shifting the release dates of many Phase Four films, Thor: Love and Thunder recently had its premiere date moved to Feb. 11, 2022, after previously being planned to release a week later on Feb. 18. Love and Thunder's original release date was planned for November 2021.

While most plot points in Thor: Love and Thunder have been kept under wraps, several elements that will feature in the film have been shared, including that it will feature an appearance by some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 11, 2022.
