To help entertain fans self-isolating due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, filmmaker Taika Waititi hosted a live commentary of his 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok, with Mark Ruffalo joining the stream to comment on his appearance as the Hulk.

As an amused Waititi and Ruffalo watched the scene where the Asgardian Avenger and Jade Giant compare their mutual love of fire, Waititi shared that Ruffalo would regularly approach him on set and joke that Marvel Studios would fire them for the film's wacky antics.

"'Are we breaking Marvel?'" recalled Ruffalo as the two laughed at the surprising amount of irreverent humor they were able to add in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film. "I kept waiting for them to come and fire us... did anybody say anything about the fact we didn't shoot anything from the script?"

Waititi admitted significant portions of the film's dialogue were improvised on the day of filming, including Hulk playing around with a ball while speaking with Thor following their epic bout.

Waititi is currently co-writing and directing the film's direct sequel Thor: Love and Thunder, reuniting much of Ragnarok's main cast in a new movie continuing Thor's adventures in the MCU.
