The good news for fans of V arrived last week, of course, when ABC decided to renew the struggling sci-fi drama. But now comes the sort of bad news: The network has decided to hold the premiere until November to ensure the series can air uninterrupted through the remainder of the season.
It's a sign that ABC may have learned a lesson from NBC's scheduling mistakes with Heroes and its own early missteps with Lost, two heavily serialized dramas that suffered from midseason repeats.
Barely a week ago V was neck and neck with fellow genre series FlashForward in the race for renewal. But as they approached the finish line, V saw a 14-percent ratings increase, presumably clinching its second season.
