Voice of 'Star Wars' Admiral Ackbar, Erik Bauersfeld, Dead at 93

Erik Bauersfeld, beloved "Star Wars" voice actor and radio producer, passed away over the weekend in his Berkeley home at the age of 93.

Bauersfeld's most notable roles include voicing Admiral Ackbar and Bib Fortuna in "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi." In "Return of the Jedi" he delivered one of "Star Wars'" most famous lines, "It's a trap!"

Bauersfeld also returned to "Star Wars" this year, by voicing the role of Ackbar again in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." He voiced the role alongside actor Timothy M. Rose, who portrayed Ackbar in both films.

In addition to his voice over work, Bauersfeld also produced radio dramas at Berkeley's KPFA station for over 31 years. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bauersfeld died in his home on Sunday, as confirmed by his manager, Derek Maki.
