VIZ Media announced that Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, a sequel to the beloved Inuyasha anime/manga series, is in development. The series focuses on twin demons Towa and Setsuna, the daughters of Inuyasha's brother Sesshomaru.The twins are separated from each other during a forest fire, and Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that takes her to present-day Japan. Towa is then raised by Kagome Higurashi's brother Sota. Ten years later, Towa reunites with Setsuna, who has no memories of her sister and has become a demon slayer. The two are joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome. Created by Rumiko Takahashi, Inuyasha focuses on the half-demon Inuyasha and high schooler Kagome Higurashi as they journeyed across Feudal Japan to restore the Jewel of Four Souls. Along the way, they are joined by a multitude of characters including the monk Miroku and his wife, the demon slayer Sango.

The series gained widespread praise for its mix of epic action sequences and long simmering romance between Inuyasha and Kagome. Inuyasha fans will be excited to learn that an official sequel to the legendary anime is on the way.

No release date for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon has yet been announced.
