DC's Truth & Justice has found Vixen in quite a bind as she tries to stop a new, powerful and dangerous god from wreaking havoc in the world. She's been recruited by Dr. Mist and Impala, a speedster working for the GGI, the United Nations' Metahuman Force and an updated take on the classic Global Guardians DC team. Their job is to stop the tyrant from rising up in Africa, but it seems like they bit off more than they could chew.

Things come to a head in Truth & Justice #2 as their big plan backfires badly. As a result, the Arrowverse hero runs head-first into a fight she's not prepared or equipped for and ends up becoming possessed by the deadliest god around: Yemaya.

This issue expands on the relic that Professor Krieg found on a previous dig with Impala, which turned him into the vicious god, Nyame. We discover in flashbacks that it's but one of seven relics that transform people into destroyers, and it's seeking hosts such as Vandal Savage. The immortal fiend tried eons ago to wield all of them, but Mist and a team of supernatural heroes took him down and scattered the items all across Africa.

Now, it turns out they're being recovered as Nyame wants to bring a particular sibling back. They speed off to Kenya by chopper, but Nyame broke Vixen's Tantu Totem in their previous encounter, so her powers are weak. Still, she's willing to risk everything as they cannot let Krieg collect all the pieces.

When they find the Nyame-possessed Krieg at a pyramid, though, the outlook's bleak as he's in full-blown war-mode, trashing nearby monuments and raising sandstorms to find the key to reviving Yemaya. Vixen and Impala do well to attack him but sadly, this leaves her open without the full strength of her animal powers. She's not as quick as she usually is and this leads to Yemaya's necklace, wrapping around and choking her.

The end result is Vixen turns into the conduit for this destroyer. Yemaya and Nyame do seem to have a beef with Anansi, and seeing as Anansi is tied to Vixen's totem and abilities, it could be this is a personal battle allowing the siblings to get back at the spider-god.

By calling on the power of the indestructible tardigrade, Vixen is able to mentally overpower Yemaya and defeat the Nyame-possessed Kreig by tearing off his necklace while in an embrace. But even though Vixen only lost control of her body momentarily, she was still possessed by one of the most dangerous gods in the DC Universe for a few moments.
