The Spectral Knights and Darkling Lords of Hasbro’s Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light will soon be making their way into IDW Publishing’s Hasbroverse, if a recent tease by the comic book publisher ends up bearing fruit. The publisher hinted at the addition of the Visionaries cast in a simple tweet that showed the media franchise’s logo projected on a conference screen.

Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light was a toy line, comic series and animated television show based on Hasbro products from the late ‘80s. The media franchise’s story imagined a world called Prysmos, on which all advanced technology has ceased to function, forcing its denizens to rely on ancient magic for their combat needs.

IDW Publishing’s Hasbroverse kicked off with the 2016 "Revolution" storyline that saw the likes of the Transformers and G.I. Joe teaming up with other Hasbro franchises like Micronauts, Rom and Action Man. The inclusion of Visionaries characters will likely stoke the flames of nostalgia for Hasbro fans, but the franchise never reached the heights of popularity achieved by the toy company's other properties.

Though nothing official has been announced, the Visionaries characters are likely to appear in IDW’s upcoming “First Strike” crossover event that follows up on the original "Revolution" storyline. Several of Hasbro’s most iconic franchises have also received solo outings at IDW, so there’s a possibility Visionaries might get its own series down the line.
