Superheroes, historically, seem to have complicatedly complex relationships. This is apparent, like Hank Pym and the chemically-induced abusive relationship he had with his wife, which led to the most famous divorce in comics history. There's also the ever head-turning love triangle between Wolverine, Cyclops, and Jean Grey.

A relationship that started off great and ended with the entire team disbanding, the couple has no shortage of moments that make the heads of fans turn. But, this doesn't mean they weren't ideal. For the longest time, the Vision and Scarlet Witch were Marvel's best couple and the most ideal when one really thinks about it. A unique relationship that will probably be explored in the MCU's WandaVision, the Vision and Scarlet Witch have nothing but the juicy history behind their loving relationship, and eventual fallout.

10 Best: They're The Avengers' Strongest Members

Wanda and Vision Fighting MCU

To say Vision and Wanda Maximoff are both weapons of mass destruction is not an overstatement. As seen during their multiple battles within the MCU, the amount of power each character has is only comparable by how much they hold back.

Vision is a flying, density controlling android who walks around with an infinity stone on his forehead like Adam Warlock. Wanda Maximoff is a reality-bending mutant who defeated Thanos with a literal flick of her wrists. The fact that they hold back as much as they do means each film would have been substantially shorter if they just let loose, let alone let loose as a couple.

9 Worst: They're Both Children Of The Mind Stone

Wanda and Vision Mind Stone Powers MCU

The Scarlet Witch received her powers by allowing herself to be subjected to experiments with the Mind Stone, in order to get revenge on Tony Stark and the Avengers. Vision was created for the sole purpose of defeating the Avengers, by serving as a body for Ultron, who was also birthed by the Mind Stone.

Both these characters were created to beat the Avengers, which is probably why they are so insanely overpowered. The fact that they felt attracted to each other might not be a coincidence when one thinks about it.

8 Best: They Fall For Each Other Over Time

While some fans still wonder how Bruce Banner and Black Widow happened, there is no need to question why the Vision and Scarlet Witch love each other. Their desires are present throughout the films, from the moment when Vision rescues Wanda from a falling Sokovia, to when she destroys the Mind Stone as he says I love you.

Their relationship was something fans not only looked forward to but also mourned for ending too quickly. No other couple in the MCU carried the "relationship goals" vibe that Vision and Scarlet Witch swaggered, and that is admirable.

7 Worst: Vision Makes It Hard To Be With Him

Vision in a sweater in Captain America: Civil War.

To say fans saw their relationship blossom throughout the films is false. Their relationship did build up throughout the films, but in Captain America: Civil War, their relationship creepy and weird, even for  "just friends" standards.

Vision proved to be a guy trying to cheer up Wanda, even if in his own way, but constantly seemed to make her uncomfortable throughout the film. Barging into her room when she's speaking privately with Captain America, not letting her leave the Avengers compound, and even forcing her to use her power on him. Wanda was right, she can't control the fears of others, only her own.

6 Best: They Are The Original Super-Hero Odd-Couple

Vision and Wanda Kissing MCU and Marvel Comics

As previously stated, Vision is an Android created by the A.I. Ultron. Scarlet Witch is a super-powered refugee with reality-bending powers. In the comics, Wanda is a mutant with hex magic and the daughter of the mutant master of magnetism, Magneto.

Both of these characters have a large sack of baggage they carry, which makes for an oddly perfect pairing. All Wanda wanted to do was feel normal, and all Vision wanted was to feel human. Their desires oddly match each other and complement each other perfectly, making them the original super-hero odd couple. Plus, she's a mutant and he's a robot, that alone makes it a unique couple.

5 Worst: Scarlet Witch Secretly Resented Vision

Wanda and Vision argument Vision # 7

It's a known fact that among the Avengers ranks, Vision treats Wanda like she's a normal person. But during the pages of 2016's Vision #9, writer Tom King revealed that during their marriage and suburban life, Vision's lack of complex human emotions began to take a toll on Wanda. Eventually, Wanda began to resent Vision and hate the very thing that made him unique.

While Vision still loved his wife, Wanda was becoming fed-up with Vision's lack of humanity. This becomes even more-so when Vision dies and is brought back as a white, emotionless, pure technical android, which leads to Vision and Wanda's falling out.

4 Best: They Were The First Avengers' Couple To Have Children

Wanda and Vision with babies WandaVision MCU

Whoever said a mutant and an Android can't have children have obviously never met Vision and the Scarlet Witch. Although Vision can't physically have children, this didn't stop Wanda from using her powers to make herself pregnant with the Vision's children.

Twin brothers Thomas and William were born during the pages of The Vision & Scarlet Witch Vol. 2, with non-other than Doctor Strange himself assisting in their birth and confirming their existence. Ironic that the WandaVision trailer shows two cribs and two babies being carried by both Vision and Wanda.

3 Worst: Their Children Arel Pieces Of The Devil's Soul

Pandemonium Re-Absorbs Thomas and William Marvel Comics

As some fans might have accurately wondered, children do not just magically appear, even by the Scarlet Witch's standards. It was later revealed within the pages of Avengers West Coast #52, that Thomas and William were actually fractured pieces of the devil Mephisto's own soul, used by Wanda to give her children a soul and life of their own during their conception.

Eventually, the children are re-absorbed by Mephisto, and their memory erased from Wanda's own memories in an attempt to keep her sane. This was a decision Vision agreed to, making the overall event one of the worst things to happen to the couple overall.

2 Best: They Sacrificed Themselves To Save Their Teammates

Wanda Kills Vision Avengers Infinity War MCU

Vision and Scarlet Witch might be the best super-couple ever, not only for a variety of reasons but mainly because they both chose to give everything, including their lives, to save the team.

Not the decision of one individual, but of two who understood what needed to be done. Vision and Wanda both agreed she needed to destroy the Mind Stone in order to stop the attack on Wakanda during Avengers: Infinity War, even though it took everything out of Wanda both physically and emotionally (and Vision literally gave his life in order to do so).

1 Worst: They Were Responsible For The Avenger's Disassemble

Scarlet Witch Attacking The Avengers In Avengers Disassembled

Little known fact, Vision took part in the wiping of Wanda's memories after her children were taken by the devil. He and the Avengers thought taking away the memory of one of the best things in Wanda's life would be for the best. In the short-run, it was a good idea, as it gave Wanda comfort and mental stability.

However, in the long-run, Wanda eventually remembers what happened and realizes what her teammates did to her. This leads to the aforementioned Avengers: Disassembled event, which sees a Scarlet Witch controlled Vision attack the Avengers at their mansion, and Wanda assists Doctor Doom in the separation of her teammates.
