Daredevil's D'Onofrio Would Play Lex Luthor - But Don't Get Too Excited

Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio expressed interest in playing Lex Luthor in the DC Extended Universe, only to delete his tweet, apparently out of concern it was being taken out of context.

A fan on Twitter asked the Wilson Fisk actor which other Daredevil character he would like to play, if given the opportunity. "I wouldn't," D'Onofrio replied. "I'd jump over to DC and play Lex."

However, when his tweet set off more of a furor than he may have anticipated, D'Onofrio deleted it, and then wrote, "I took down my Lex tweet becuz some folks go overboard. Which is fun. But out of context. Which is also fun I guess. Much like this tweet."

Many fans on Twitter missed the original tweet and were unsure what D'Onofrio was referring to in his later one, but still had fun speculating.
