Vin Diesel Pitched "Giant Groot" to James Gunn for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"

"The Fast and the Furious" star Vin Diesel shared how he would like to see his character Groot grow in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" during an interview with IGN.

"I've talked to James Gunn about that. I can't give it away but I would love to see gigantic Groot," he explained.

"I'd love to throw him into a forest and see how much mass that he consumes after devouring all the trees," he added. "Imagine throwing him into Central Park in New York City. I just want to see Giant Groot."

At the end of the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film, Groot sacrificed himself to save his friends. Rocket gathered the splinters of his fallen friend and planted one as a memorial; unbeknownst to the team, however, the splinter took root and sprang back to life as the fan-favorite "Baby Groot."

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" opens on May 5, 2017.
