Fast & Furious mainstay, Vin Diesel, has boarded James Cameron's four Avatar sequels in a currently unknown role.
Diesel announced he was joining the Avatar sequels in a video post alongside director James Cameron to his Instagram page with the caption, "And the journey continues... #Blessed #Grateful #Avatar." Diesel's role in the film was not disclosed, however, the actor noted that his collaboration with Cameron was "long overdue."
"Okay, so here we are on the set of Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5. This is top secret, this is like the Manhattan Project, with my old buddy Vin, and we're actually going to give him the flashy thing from Men in Black when he leaves here so he has no memory whatsoever of what he's seen cause he can not carry the tale," Cameron said in the video.
"There is one person in Hollywood I've always wanted to work with and learn from," Diesel said of Cameron.
Written and directed by James Cameron, Avatar 2 stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco, Kate Winslet, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel and David Thewlis. The film is slated to release on December 18, 2020. Avatar 3 is expected to follow on December 17, 2021.
