10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Black Panther

Black Panther is now in theatres around the world and it's proving to be an extremely popular movie. Who would have thought that would happen ten years ago?! The excellent Chadwick Boseman has embodied the character otherwise known as T'Challa brilliantly - and he's turned him into a bona fide pop culture icon. Marvel have every right to be very proud of their Wakandan hero - but there are certainly some things the comic book giants would like the world to forget about him. Here are ten of those things; the fact that he wasn't actually the first black superhero to appear in mainstream American comic books, the fact that his original costume design was an absolute embarrassment, the fact that the character's conceptual name was actually "Coal Tiger", the fact that his name was very briefly changed to "Black Leopard", the fact that Wesley Snipes almost played him on film years ago, the fact that he fought against the Ku Klux Klan, the fact that he possesses some rather silly (but very powerful) brass frogs, the fact that some of his victories in comic books have actually been quite embarrassing, the fact that he couldn't win one of his fights even when he was wearing the Infinity Gauntlet, and the fact that he had a supporting character/villain who went by the name "Man-Ape".
