Wonder Woman 1984 will introduce Maxwell Lord, played by Pedro Pascal, to the DC Extended Universe. There's still a lot unknown about how he'll factor into the plot, though the first trailer indicates Lord will play a pretty big role. There's a lot you might not know about Lord in that trailer, but don't worry: We've got you covered with a new video.

We're starting our video off with the Lord's debut. Pascal's Lord may be the first time the character has arrived on the big-screen, but that doesn't mean it's the first time he's been planned to feature in a film. Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller's ill-fated Justice League: Mortal would have served as Lord's debut. The project was scrapped days before production, despite having a script, cast and costumes ready to go. Jay Baruchel would have played Lord in that film.
