Marvel Studios' Black Widow film is set to finally introduce Taskmater to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it's not totally clear at this time just what he wants. Still, there's a lot we can imply based on his appearances based on what we know right now from trailers. Here's why we think that means Taskmaster's ultimate goal is to destroy the Avengers.

In the comics, Taskmaster trained such villains as Crossbones to take on Captain America. However, the villain is more than just a teacher. He's also capable of mimicking the moves of those he observes. While there are a lot of changes when characters are adapted from the comics and it's likely he'll be altered in some way, Taskmaster might just take a cue from his comics counterpart. From the trailers, we know he's been observing the Avengers, learning their skills, so it's clear at least that part of his character is going to remain. Alterations to his character, though, are likely to make him closer to Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow so as to set up behind-the-scenes tension, which means Taskmaster might just have an overlord who doesn't want to see the Avengers succeed: Russia.
