VIDEO: Why Steve Rogers is the Father of Peggy Carter's Children

The end of Avengers: Endgame saw an older Steve Rogers/Captain America passing his shield to Sam Wilson/Falcon. As the two conversed, Steve revealed that he'd remained in the past so as to live the life he'd left behind. There's been some debate as to just how the movie's time travel rules interact with Steve's choice. However, one prominent theory says he's actually the father of Peggy Carter's children, which was actually confirmed by the film's writers.

Check out the video below for more reasons Steve is the father of Peggy's children.

Whether Steve created an alternate timeline is a subject of disagreement between directors Joe and Anthony Russo and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The former say a new timeline was created by Captain America remaining in the past, the latter say there was always another Steve running around in the background of the MCU and that Peggy's children are Steve's.

At this time, it's unknown when Steve might return to the MCU. The Russo brothers previously said actor Chris Evans has stepped away from the part for the foreseeable future, so it seems unlikely he'll reprise his role again anytime soon.
