Spider-Man: Far From Home will see Peter Parker growing up in a big way following the events of Avengers: Endgame and the death of Tony Stark. There are a lot of indications that Mysterio is the movie's secret villain, with a recent tie-in toy seemingly confirming the character's relationship to Spider-Man. However, what if this is a case of Marvel using misdirection to distract from the movie's actual villain?

Some of Nick Fury's actions in the trailer are a bit odd. He essentially stalks a teenager and incapacities his friend. He seems to be isolating Peter despite the fact there are a lot of other heroes he might look at, including the new Captain America: Sam Wilson. Fury's choice to operate more incognito might indicate he's got something else going on. We don't think Nick Fury himself has gone rogue, but there's something else at play in the film. His odd behavior might actually be related to the movie's introduction of multiple universes, with the spy not necessarily having Peter Parker's best interest in mind.

Check out the video below for more information on why Far From Home's Nick Fury might end up being the movie's villain.

This is definitely a theory at this time, but there's a chance a Nick Fury from another universe might have made his way into the MCU, which could end up having dire consequences for everyone involved. As Marvel Studios looks to explore the Multiverse in more depth, this may be the opening move in having Phase Four introduce alternate versions of characters.
