In a new exclusive video, CBR looks at the craziest costume changes in Dragon Ball history.

Having started in 1984, the Dragon Ball franchise features some of the most recognizable characters in all of anime. However, the series' heroes and villains have undergone some pretty dramatic changes over the years. We've compiled a list of the fifteen most surprising costume makeovers in the franchise.

Both Goku and Vegeta have changed pretty dramatically since their first appearances. The Prince of Saiyans, for example, has also gone some pretty significant physical changes. The character's armor, clothing and color scheme were all different in his first appearance. However, his actual look has now departed pretty significantly from his debut. Goku, on the other hand, has aged up pretty significantly, looking much different than the child fans first met back in the '80s.

There's also Krillin, whose baldness was the subject of a lot of fan speculation. Although many assumed that Krillin shaved his head for some sort of monastic reason, the character has since been seen with hair, even going so far as to grow a mustache at one point. The character has since appeared with and without hair over the course of the series.

We're also going to talk about the dramatic changes that Trunks, Bulma, the Pilaf Gang, Mr. Satan, Videl and many more. A lot of these changes were made more obvious with the art style change between Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, though we're definitely going to touch on some of the changes that happened on screen.

As the manga and anime for Dragon Ball Super progress, there are sure to be some even more dramatic costume changes. The series, which is set after the events of Dragon Ball Z, will continue to introduce new lore and characters.
