VIDEO: Did Red Skull Trick Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War?

Avengers Infinity War Red Skull

Avengers: Infinity War saw the return of Red Skull after his disappearance at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger. He was responsible for guarding the Soul Stone and helped Thanos to obtain it by telling him that he'd have to sacrifice something in order to obtain it. However, is there a chance that Red Skull might have actually tricked the Mad Titan?

There are a lot of oddities about the meeting between Thanos and Red Skull, as he names the Mad Titan's father, which is particularly odd considering the fact that the two would really have no reason to know about each other. This means Red Skull knows quite a bit about Thanos, and potentially even his plan to destroy half the universe. Having half the population of Earth destroyed could prove very advantageous for Red Skull, and he might have planned for that possibility.

Check out the video below for more on the theory that Red Skull may have tricked Thanos in Infinity War.

The Russo brothers have previously teased that Red Skull is no longer bound to Vormir, leaving open the possibility he might return at some point in the future. Although Hugo Weaving played the villain in Captain America: The First Avengers, he did not reprise his role for Infinity War. Weaving was replaced by Ross Marquand for the movie. If Red Skull returns in the future, it's unclear who might play the character, though it seems likely that Marquand will reprise the role.
