The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced some of the most compelling villains in superhero cinema, and one of the strengths of the films has been setting up future enemies for the heroes of Earth and space to contend with. It seems pretty likely that Avengers: Endgame will introduce some of the villains that will be appearing in the MCU's Phase Four.

The movie is likely to introduce at least one of those villains through the Quantum Realm, which most fans believe will play a major role in the film. Although it's not known exactly how the Quantum Realm will factor into the film, the area presents a golden opportunity to hint at some of the MCU's other villains, especially if time travel plays a role in the movie.

Considering Disney's impending acquisition of key assets from 21st Century Fox, there's a good chance that a lot of villains who were previously unavailable to Marvel Studios will become more important in the future. It's unclear at this time exactly how much Marvel Studios is banking on access to those forthcoming characters for Phase Four, but it's likely that the studio has plans in place regardless of what happens.
