Ryan Coogler's Black Panther was one of the most successful installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, having earned $1.3 billion worldwide. A big part of that success came from the stellar acting job done by Chadwick Boseman/T'Challa, Michael B. Jordan/Killmonger and Lupita Nyong'o/Nakia.

The Nakia appearing in Black Panther is pretty different from the one in the comics, but those appearances may inform her depiction going forward. In the comics, Nakia joined the Dora Milaje at age 14 and spent a lot of time trying to woo T'Challa. She went on to push one of the King of Wakanda's love interests out of a plane, which resulted in him stripping her of his Dora Milaje status.

Following a pretty bad series of events, Nakia eventually became the villain Malice. Nyong'o herself has expressed her desire to play a villain in the MCU. However, there's nothing at the moment that would seem to indicate she'll take this path, but it's entirely possible that it might tie into T'Challa's marriage to the mutant Storm, the rights to whom will soon belong to Marvel Studios.

Although T'Challa was turned to dust by Thanos' snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, there are already plans for a sequel to 2018's Black Panther, so don't expect him to stay dead for long. However, it's unknown at this time how exactly the snap will be undone and those who were affected by it will be restored to life. There are a lot of directions a sequel might take, but it's clear that Nakia will play a role in those future plans regardless.
