WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian Chapter 6, "The Prisoner," now streaming on Disney+.

In just a single season, The Mandalorian has added more than its fair share of colorful characters to the Star Wars Universe, including the irresistibly adorable Baby Yoda. A much different but still memorable character has been the recent addition of Mayfield, portrayed by prolific stand-up comedian and actor Bill Burr.

Recruited by the eponymous bounty hunter and his old friend Ran to stage a raid on a New Republic prison vessel, Mayfield was revealed to be a former Imperial sharpshooter for the Galactic Empire, still visibly frustrated by his time fighting for the losing side of the Galactic Civil War before taking his talents to less-than-legal clients.

Check out the video below for all the details about Bill Burr and his portrayal of Mayfield, his past with the Galactic Empire and the heavily armed sharpshooter's potential final fate on The Mandalorian.

As with everything on the bounty hunter side of the Star Wars Universe, loyalties only run so deep and betrayal is just an everyday part of the job. Mayfield's past with the Galactic Empire and lingering bitterness over his new role in the galaxy have certainly made him a dangerous figure even without his heavy armaments as he remains an unpredictable gunslinger in a dangerous side of the universe. And with Bill Burr's irascible performance as the cynical mercenary, the Star Wars Universe just gained its latest fan-favorite mercenary with the very real possibility of his return sometime later in that galaxy far, far away.
