My Hero Academia features some of the best teachers in all of anime, as they really care about their students and preparing them for life as heroes. The show's main school, U.A. High School, has a number of characters worthy of special attention, but there's one we think really deserves his due: Shota "Eraser Head" Aizawa, who is the homeroom teacher for U.A's Class 1-A.

There are a lot of reasons Aizawa is on this list, even though exactly which subject he teaches at the school isn't particularly clear. First appearing in his giant sleeping bag, it was hard to know exactly what to make of Aizawa. He quickly proved himself a terrifying and tough teacher, threatening to expel the person who performed the worst in his Quirk test. However, over the course of the series, it's become clear Aizawa cares a ton about his students and wants to make sure that they succeed as heroes. He proved he was one of the greatest anime teachers when Class 1-A was attacked by the League of Villains at the end of Season 1. Jumping into battle to protect his students, Aizawa proved he was a formidable fighter and great mentor.

My Hero Academia has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014, and there are over 230 chapters available. The series proved so popular that it inspired a spinoff, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and has spawned one tie-in movie, with another on the way. Legendary Entertainment also has the rights to a live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia, so that might show up in theaters sooner rather than later.
