The first trailer for Morbius, which stars Jared Leto as the title living vampire, dropped earlier this month. That film will take place in the same universe as 2018's Venom. As such, the two antiheroes may very well meet up at some point of the future, whether as part of some major crossover project or something else. This naturally leads to one question: Who would win in a fight between Morbius and Venom?

Although some might argue Venom will eventually win, there are some good reasons Morbius could destroy the symbiote. Morbius has some pretty incredible powers in addition to one of the most brilliant minds of his day, and this could prove very, very valuable in a battle against Venom. He's got some major weaknesses, but they're not nearly as bad as those that others have.

Check out the video below for more reasons why Morbius may actually be more powerful than Venom.

Morbius is set to be the second film in Sony's Universe of Spider-Man characters. That cinematic universe's first installment, Venom, proved immensely successful at the box office, with a sequel being greenlit soon after release. However, the movie didn't fare nearly as well critically. In addition to Venom 2 and Morbius, Sony has been working on a variety of other films based on Spider-Man characters, including Silver Sable, Black Cat, Kraven the Hunter and many, many more. The future of those projects will likely be tied directly to the success of Venom 2 and Morbius, so all eyes are on those two franchises. Still, the first trailer for Morbius revealed the movie will feature references to Spider-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so that increased connectivity may help the film succeed.
