VIDEO: MCU Villains We Almost Got (But Never Appeared)

Marvel Comics has a ton of fantastic villains, and many of them have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although there are a lot of villains who still haven't made their way to the big screen, there are a lot that got very close before getting removed. We've made a list of 10 villains who almost made it to the MCU but didn't for one reason or another.

One of the biggest villains that didn't actually arrive in the MCU was Mega Ultron, who would have appeared as one of the titular AI's body in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The character would have been approximately the size of a skyscraper.

There's also the matter of the Mandarin. Iron Man controversial featured an actor named Trevor Slattery pretending to be the villain as part of Aldrich Killian's plan. However, the All Hail the King one-shot revealed that the character does indeed exist in the MCU, leaving open the possibility that he might actually just appear at some point in the future.

There are a lot more villains that were supposed to appear in the MCU, and many of them got very close. Check out the video below for more MCU villains we almost got.

Although these villains haven't yet made it to the MCU, there's a chance that they might appear in the future. However, they'll most likely be competing with the villains that Marvel Studios will have access to when Disney acquires key assets 21st Century Fox. There's also the matter of the villains that survived their films, who might make an appearance in the future. Red Skull, for example, is now apparently free of Vormir and able to pursue his own ends again following his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
