Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Don Heck in 1964's The Avengers #9, Simon Williams/Wonder Man has played a key role in some of Marvel's biggest comics from over the decades. However, one of Wonder Man's most important contributions to the Marvel Universe actually involved Vision, as Williams' brain patterns were used to create the synthezoid. In this video, we're going to explain how that connection might just mean that Wonder Man will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Disney+'s WandaVision.

Originally, director James Gunn had planned to have Nathan Fillion appear as Simon Williams on a series of posters in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. However, those posters were cut from the final product. As such, it's unclear on whether or not they're considered canon to the MCU and if Fillion will indeed play the character when he does arrive.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it's not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there's a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there's not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could take going forward, though exactly which one it will take remains to be seen.
