The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the biggest pop culture juggernauts of all time, having made several billion at the worldwide box office. Although there's some sense a universe revolving around people with superheroic powers might not touch on real world issues all that much, one of the most appealing aspects of the Marvel comics and movies is that they do look at real world issues. We've compiled a list of ten times the MCU addressed real world issues.

We're starting the list off with mental health. The movies have done a lot of work to look at the collateral damage and mental health issues fighting battles and saving the world might inflict on heroes. Iron Man 3 is one of the clearest examples of this, as Tony Stark seems to be suffering from panic attacks and post-traumatic stress disorder. His struggles help to make him appear vulnerable and humanize him.
