CBR investigates in a new exclusive video the small hints that led to Avengers: Endgame that most fans didn't notice.

In the lead-up to the reveal of Avengers: Endgame's first trailer and title, fans spent an inordinate number of hours combing the Marvel Cinematic Universe's films for clues as to what the title would be. There were also many who went through the comments from producers, directors, writers and actors in their quest. When the title finally dropped, some fans were quite happy to find out that they'd already figured it out.

There were a lot of hints to Endgame being the title, with Tony Stark and Doctor Strange saying the word in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War, respectively. Additionally, cinematographer Trent Opaloch, who listed movies he had been a part of on his website, had an entry titled Avengers: End Game. However, a number of fans discounted the theory after Joe and Anthony Russo seemingly dismissed the title as fake in early 2018. Still, those fans who stuck with the name ended up being right.

Check out the video below for more hints in the MCU that gave an indication Avengers 4 would actually be titled Endgame. In the video, we'll also explain how that cryptic set photo the Russo brothers posted in September fit into the eventual reveal of the title.

Endgame will be integral to the MCU going forward, and it's likely that not every character will survive the events of the movie. It's unknown what the next major event film set in the MCU will be. However, it will likely depend on what happens with Disney's impending acquisition of key assets from 21st Century Fox, which include the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. This acquisition will also give Marvel Studios access to some of the most dangerous villains from the comics, including Doctor Doom and Galactus.
