When the latest teaser for Avengers: Endgame premiered at this year's Superbowl, fans noticed something odd about the short clip: the spacing in two scenes made it appear as if a character had been edited out. Marvel Studios is no stranger to editing its trailers and teasers to avoid spoilers. For example, the trailers for Avengers: Infinity War featured Hulk at the Battle of Wakanda. However, when the film rolled around, Bruce Banner wore Tony Stark's Hulkbuster armor for the battle. So there's precedent for Marvel Studios editing a hero out of the newest teaser.

The first scene under scrutiny sees Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Steve Rogers/Captain America, Bruce Banner/Hulk and James Rhodes/War Machine walking purposefully towards something in the sky. The spacing between Banner and Rhodes is, frankly, bizarre. And this isn't even the only scene in which the spacing is weird. If Marvel Studios did cut a character out of these scenes, it's likely to hide a surprising addition to the film that it don't want to spoil in advance, such as Captain Marvel, Loki or another popular hero.

Although we'll have to wait until the movie actually premieres to know for sure if a character was cut from these scenes, there's a lot of evidence to suggest that's indeed the case.
