Marvel Studios and Disney expect those who are joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as superheroes to get into the best shape imaginable, which involves some pretty intense and grueling workouts. We've compiled a list of twenty actors who had to get ripped to play their heroes and some of the details of their routines.

On this list, we're going to talk about a lot of different actors, including Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The fan-favorite character finally made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War. However, this forced the young actor to get in shape by boxing, which helps with his fight choreography. This means that he's actually involved in many of his own fight scenes, as he's got some skills.

As Marvel Studios recently announced its new slate for Phase Four, there are a lot more actors who are going to be joining the fold for their first heroic outings, including Simu Liu as Shang-Chi and many, many more. There's a good chance they're going to have to undergo the same onerous process of getting into shape that many of the other actors on this list had to. And, with many more heroes in the future, this list might just end up getting a whole lot longer by the time the MCU reaches its twentieth anniversary. Plus, some heroes, like Chris Evans, won't have to continue his grueling routine.
