VIDEO: Hulk's Return in Endgame Might Not Be What You Think

After Thanos' defeated him at the start of the film, Hulk disappeared from the rest of Avengers: Infinity War, with Bruce Banner unable to bring his destructive alter-ego to the surface. Banner went on to survive Thanos' snap and the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame made it clear the character would return for the fight against the Mad Titan. However, the trailer didn't feature the Hulk. Although it seems like a pretty safe bet that the strongest Avenger will return, it might be in a much different way than you expect.

There are a lot of theories about Hulk's return in Endgame, but one of the most interesting has its basis in Hulk's depiction in Thor: Ragnarok, which showed that the hero was capable of learning language and of having complex thoughts. New toy leaks for the film suggest that Hulk might have a sleeker appearance in the movie, which could indicate that the film will feature Professor Hulk. As that character combines Hulk's strength and Bruce Banner's intelligence, he could be absolutely integral to defeating Thanos.

Although Hulk has only had one solo film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it doesn't seem likely that the character will get another movie any time soon. In 2017, actor Mark Ruffalo remarked another solo film focused on his character wouldn't happen.
