The Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is filled with men in armored suits, unfrozen super soldiers and giant purple space aliens bent on wiping out half the universe, isn't exactly known for being hyper-realistic. However, there are some things that make it a bit hard to suspend our disbelief. We're talking about Captain America's shield, which is capable of doing things nothing in our world, or the MCU, should be able to do.

We accept that the MCU has its own set of rules, but there's a problem with consistency when it comes to the shield. In the first Avengers film, Captain America and Thor faced off, resulting in the latter striking the formers shield with a combination of his godlike powers and Mjolnir. However, in Avengers: Endgame, Thanos is able to chop the incredibly tough shield with his sword.

Check out the video below for more ways Captain America's shield bends the laws of science.

The end of Endgame saw Steve going back in time to spend his life with Peggy Carter. When he returned to the present, he passed his shield on to Sam Wilson/Falcon, who will presumably go on to become the next Captain America, as in the comics. There are sure to be even more acts with the shield that will bend and break laws of science, but they'll also probably be just as epic as the ones listed here.
