Fan-favorite actor Ryan Reynolds is no stranger to portraying colorful superheroes, first as Hal Jordan in 2011's Green Lantern followed by his recent turn as Deadpool in two much more positively received films set in Fox's X-Men cinematic universe. However, while Wade Wilson certainly poked fun at Reynolds' previous superhero role in both Deadpool films, how would the cinematic interpretation of the Emerald Knight fare against the Merc with a Mouth in a no-holds barred battle royale?

To clarify, this isn't necessarily a comparison of the sheer cinematic quality between Green Lantern and the two Deadpool films -- professional critics and audiences have both agreed with their reviews and box office earnings that both of the first two Deadpool movies are better than Green Lantern by a country mile. Similarly this isn't a straightforward comparison of how the main DC Universe Hal Jordan from current comic books would fare against the comic book Deadpool currently running around the Marvel Universe. This is a comparison between the two cinematic incarnations of the characters, as realized by Reynolds' performances.

Check out the video below to see how the Ryan Reynolds' portrayals of the two comic book characters compare with one another from a power perspective and which of the actor's superhero roles would emerge triumphant in a crossover throwdown.

As much as a running joke the 2011 Green Lantern film has become -- often publicly ridiculed by Reynolds himself -- the movie's depiction of Hal Jordan and his Green Lantern Power Ring certainly made him one of the most powerful and imaginative cinematic superheroes in recent memory. However, with Wade Wilson's long history of taking down physically superior opponents with a disarming quip and well-placed bullet, Deadpool would be no slouch squaring off against even the greatest Green Lantern of them all. At least with Reynolds portraying both costumed heroes, the confrontation would certainly not be short of wisecracks.
