Video games continue to prove themselves as narrative powerhouses. Shows like The Witcher, Arcane, and Castlevania are just a few examples on how well video game properties can be adapted to television services. An unbelievable amount of work goes into creating video games, arguably more than any other medium considering how much detail and world building is required. The future of The Walking Dead franchise appears bright. Although the decade-long television series concludes soon, there are plenty of spin-offs set for fans to sink their teeth into. Fortunately, a terrific narrative already exists within The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series, and it's screaming to be adapted into a heartbreaking television series.

The series follows Lee and Clementine and their hunt for safety and companionship in a zombie-filled world. Although Telltale Games collapsed in 2018, Skybound acquired the rights to the video game series in 2018. Skybound was founded by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and gave fans a satisfying ending to an incredible story.

9 Demon's Souls Is A Journey Through Hell

First Encounter With A Demon

Demon's Souls is a brutally difficult game where players traverse dangerous areas, taking down ferocious demons and absorbing their souls to boost the player's abilities and stats. Most audiences love an underdog story, and there's no greater underdog than the character players first begin Demon's Souls with. With incredibly low stats and a downright pitiful weapon, it's an uphill battle for most players. However, it could make for an extremely entertaining dark comedy series where fans watch as the show's protagonist slowly manages to overcome deadly enemies through trial and error.

8 Persona 5 Royal Is Going To Steal Everyone's Hearts

Haru awakens in Persona- 5

Persona 5 Royal practically transcends beyond the world of video games already, as it leans heavily into an anime aesthetic. Players take on the role of Joker, a high school student with the ability to alter a person's perspective from within them. With the help of a charismatic team, Joker takes on larger-than-life enemies, with even larger personalities.

Coming-of-age stories are timeless. They most often involve a road trip through a desert as a poignant indie song plays over the stereo, but there are some that separate themselves, with Persona 5 Royal being an excellent example. Given how intricately detailed every relationship is, as well as the vast amount of world-building required, this title would be best suited for a streaming service like Netflix.

The No Mercy hospital level of Left 4 Dead game.

The Left 4 Dead series came out in 2008 and ended a year later in 2009 with Left 4 Dead 2, but it still has a massive following. Its formula of four players taking on a level inhabited by unique zombies has been borrowed several times over the years, helping to create amazing games. But there's something about this series that fans can't seem to let go of.

Left 4 Dead offers very little information about each of its characters outside their designs, but that's also great for television writers aspiring to breathe new life into the dead franchise. With the popularity of zombies still unwavering, Left 4 Dead could be a fun addition to the list of choices for fans to watch.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a family-friendly fighting game released in 2018 and features an extensive roster of familiar Nintendo characters. While this idea would likely not work as well as a live-action television series, it might lend itself quite well to an anime-style adaptation.

Although the characters are already quite famous, any Smash Bros show would need room for backstory and character motivation. It would be nice for this to be a long-running anime series. Many fans of anime like Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, and Naruto agree that their tournament arcs are the best of the series. With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, viewers could be treated with iconic characters like Mario going toe-to-toe against Princess Zelda.

5 StarCraft Could Be A Space Opera For The Ages

Marine from Starcraft

StarCraft was first released in 1998, quickly becoming one of the most played video games at the time. A sequel would finally land twelve years later, sending fans of the popular series back to their computers to battle hostile alien forces once again.

Shows set in space generally tend to do fairly well with both critics and their audience, as evidenced by Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, The Orville, etc. They're usually equipped with solid actors, rich stories, and an even richer budget. StarCraft would require all of these to be pulled off successfully. But that shouldn't be a problem considering how much potential this series would have on a streaming service like Paramount Plus, which is already seeing success with the Halo television series.

4 A Plague Tale: Innocence Shows The Unbreakable Bond Between A Sister And Brother

Keeping The Rats At Bay

A Plague Tale: Innocence released in 2019 to critical acclaim. It's a stealth game set in fourteenth-century France and is centered around two young siblings attempting to escape from the brutal French Inquisition and an endless swarm of plague-carrying rats.

Similar in a lot of ways to The Last of Us, which is currently being developed for HBO, A Plague Tale tackles themes like family, innocence, and death. Period pieces tend to do well with critics and fans. They're packed with intrigue, unique scenery, and emotional connection. A Plague Tale: Innocence, set in a dark time that's terrifyingly similar in a lot of ways to the present, is a perfect story to land on a service like Apple Plus.

The series focuses on Commander Shepard and his attempt to save the galaxy from an alien race with an Ozymandias way of thinking. Mass Effect tackles themes like companionship, diversity, and freedom, Mass Effect offers plenty of emotional connection for its players.

Easily spanning over a hundred hours, the Mass Effect series deserves the chance to be explored in a well-thought-out, meticulously curated story that spans at least three seasons. Considering the budget it would require to tell the story of this sci-fi epic, this series would be best suited for streaming services like Amazon Prime or HBO.

2 Resident Evil Village Could Be The Best RE Adaptation Yet

Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village picks up shortly after the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. While the player's main objective is tied directly to Biohazard, Village has a largely different world, tone, and host of deadly enemies. While it would be amazing for both games to be part of an overarching television series, Resident Evil Village has the perfect formula to immediately land.

Ever since Resident Evil VIllage's release, fans have been craving more story focused on Lady Dimitrescu. 1 Deathloop: Live, Die, Repeat

Still From The PS5 Game Deathloop

Players must assassinate eight targets in order to break the loop, but there's plenty in the way to stop them. And therein lies the formula for an excellent limited series. With less than ten hour-long episodes required, this story would be a blast as fans watch the protagonist take out a deadly foe each week. As the series unfolds, fans could learn more about the world, its characters, and the consequences of breaking the loop.
