With the release of the latest Suicide Squad film, villains are getting their limelight once again, and the old adage from Zangief— by way of Wreck-It Ralph— that states "Just because you are bad guy, does not mean you are bad guy" is ringing true. Many game franchises have villains that would feel right at home on the team, whether due to their anti-hero persona or their intense set of powers.

While these groups may not work well together, their abilities should compliment each other in a way that creates a great, well-rounded team. Muscle, brains, agility, terrifying transformations into incredible third-stage bosses. They all count toward acceptance to the squad.

10 Final Fantasy Might Be too Serious, But The Powers Would Be Awe-Inspiring

Final Fantasy Sephiroth Ardyn And Kefka

For a more dramatic style, look no further than the Final Fantasy series. Putting Kefka, Yevon, and Ulimecia in the same room as Sephiroth sounds like a beautiful disaster waiting to happen. With egos only matched by their powers, these villains would create a force that would take hundreds of alien starfish to overcome.

The amount of in-fighting over who is the more powerful god with the more powerful plan to pulverize the planet might grow stale quick, but the boss fights between them would be awe inspiring and frightening.

9 A Team Of Villains Funded By Resident Evil's Umbrella Corp Would Be Unstoppable

Umbrella Corp has the funds to produce their own Suicide Squad. And with the vast amount of human testing they've done, turning people into walking monstrosities and destroying entire cities in their wake, it's clear that they do not have the moral code to keep themselves from making one.

Led by Wesker, with Mr. X as its fist and Birkin as the brains, this squad would create a horrifying team that, given the right target, could destroy anything in their path with impunity.

8 If The Villains From All Of Mortal Kombat's Realms Would Actually Work Together, They Could Be A Real Threat

Sheeva, Rain, Ermac and Motaro in Mortal Kombat Annihilation

The 2011 reboot allowed for Mortal Kombat's greatest villains to come together to duke it out against the franchises heroes. In the two games since, there have been countless alliance, betrayals, and reformations of those same alliances. When they can stop their infighting, these violent combatants often create a force to be reckoned with, and regularly push the heroes of the franchise to their breaking point.

A Suicide Squad of the various brutal fighters from Outworld, Earthrealm, and the Netherrealm would also bring a ton of gore to the big screen, as they perform fatalities against their unlucky common enemy.

7 Psycho Mantis Could Create Some Interesting Mechanics For Audiences & Would Be A Great Leader For A Team Of Villains From Throughout Metal Gear History

MGS 1 Psycho Mantis boss fight cinematic

Metal Gear games are at once overly serious as well as wacky. With an eclectic group of villains such as Skull Face and, clone of the protagonist, Liquid Snake leading the roster, there will be plenty of strange looks from whoever they end up needing to rescue.

An exciting proposition from this new franchise would be the return of Psycho Mantis, who could potentially pull 4th wall breaking tricks on audiences, just like he did with players when they fought him in Metal Gear Solid.

6 Kingdom Hearts Allows For A Team That Can Draw From The Best Villains From Final Fantasy, Disney, And Beyond

Xehanort Sitting on Throne in Kingdom Hearts

This one may be cheating, seeing as the series includes not only iconic Disney and Final Fantasy antagonists but also original villains, but Kingdom Hearts has the makings of a great squad for that exact reason. Anyone that doesn’t want to see Sepiroth, Xehanort, and Bluto on the same team is lying to themselves.

And forget trying to figure out which Xehanort it is. There would be twists and turns all throughout the movie, revealing the true nature of the character, complete with wigs to fool any fans of the franchise.

5 A Family Friendly Team Up From The Sonic Universe Could Bring More Fun & Less Gore

Sonic chaos emeralds robotnik eggman

On a more light-hearted note, the villain cast of the Sonic series would make a funny, family friendly version of the idea, while still bringing some attitude to the screen. Robotnik’s strange and wacky inventions coupled with Shadow’s angst and Metal Sonic’s cool factor the team-up would create some engaging, strange moments.

If led by Jim Carrey’s Robotnik and potentially telling the tale of Idris Elba’s Knuckles redemption arc, there could be hilarious parallels with the film that inspires it complete with some self-referential jokes.

4 With All The Ganons Available, A Zelda-Based Squad Would Be A One Man (Or One Pig) Army

Ganons

If Link is the hero of time, and is considered a new iteration with each entry, then so is Ganon, canonically. That means that a Legend of Zelda villain team up could potentially consist of at least 11 of the same character arguing over who is the real Ganon. Additionally, some of them will be Boar-like creatures, much like King Shark.

The best part is, there are different naming conventions for the name, so, potentially, there would be a scene where all of the Ganons argue about if it's Ganon or Gannon. While the variety of motivations will need to be worked out, the powers that each Ganon brings will complement each other to build a well-rounded team.

3 If The Gods Of Olympus & Norse Myths Teamed Up, The Display Of Power Would Be Breathtaking For A Team Of God Of War Villains

God of War Zeus and Kratos fighting

Again, this one is probably cheating, seeing as how the line-up of villainy in God of War consists of the Greek and, more recently, Norse pantheons. Still, even referencing only the myths these beings are based on, there is plenty of personality and wickedness among them to create a fascinating tale.

In addition to the stories already told, this would be the crossover event two millennia in the making. Baldur’s lightning attacks infused with the powers of Zeus might finally be what it takes to bring down Kratos.

2 For A Horrifying Approach, Bring Together The Toughest Bosses In Video Games By Way Of The Dark Souls Series

Ornstein and Smough Standing Together

A team up of some of the most notable Dark Souls bosses would be accompanied by cries of both joy and sheer terror by fans around the world. Creating a team with abilities and backstories that send shivers down the most seasoned Undead's back.

Artorias teaming up with Ornstein and Smough alongside the Lord of Cinder to bring down a common enemy such as the Nameless King sounds frightening to anyone who has fought them individually. Those same bosses tearing through the hordes of enemies that block players' path would make the terror worth it, though.

1 The Humor In Borderlands Almost Matches That Of The Suicide Squad Film

Handsome Jack Looking Menacing In Borderlands 2

When the team is on their way to certain doom, a type of gallows humor develops and is almost necessary to push through those final moments. Borderlands has this in spades. Brutality is a way of life on Pandora where death is around every corner and trust is a rare commodity.

These factors are even more compounded with the villains of the series who regularly betray both the vault hunters and their own partners. Pairing Handsome Jack with Troy and Tyreen would also lend itself to some hilarious disconnected conversations among the group.
