There's probably no character in the Dragon Ball franchise that's fallen farther in the eyes of fans than Yamcha. Although he started out as fairly strong and good at what he did, Yamcha was quickly overshadowed by Goku and various other Z-Fighters. The character is now treated as something of a punchline both by fans and the anime itself. However, despite his many flaws, Yamcha is still deserving of respect, and there have been some key moments in in Dragon Ball that he proved exactly why he's still around.

We're starting out with the first Wolf Fang Fist. When Goku and Yamcha first met, the latter was a rogue and a selfish bad boy who wielded a sword and had a fury sidekick. He revealed the Wolf Fang Fist attack, which sent Goku flying through a bunch of different rocks. Now, Goku was really hungry at the time, which certainly affected things.  The Wolf Fang Fist may not be impressive by today's standards, but when it happened in the original Dragon Ball it was one of the most powerful moves fans had seen, and that certainly is worth something.

Although Dragon Ball Super has finished its run, Super Dragon Ball Heroes is helping tide fans over in the short-term, but it's unknown at this time just when the series will return with new episodes, or if it will adapt the current "Galactic Prisoner Saga" that's going on in the manga. Still, the franchise seems unlikely to stay gone for long, as it's remained one of the most popular media properties in the world for decades.
