Despite his apparent death at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange is set to reappear in Avengers: Endgame, and he's also set to star in Doctor Strange 2. Although there's not a lot of information that's been revealed for a fact about the sequel, there's actually a lot of information that indicates the direction Marvel Studios intends to go with that film.
It's not totally clear at this time how the event of Endgame will affect the events of Doctor Strange 2. Director Scott Derrickson is set to direct the sequel, which doesn't have a set release date at this point. The plot is under wraps, but there's a pretty good indication that Strange will face off against Nightmare, one of the character's longest-running adversaries. He was originally slated to be the villain for the first movie, so Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shut down that idea, believing that Nightmare's addition would force the movie to have to do too much. There's a good chance that Doctor Strange 2 will see the Master of the Mystic Arts facing off against Nightmare and, likely, Mordo.

There's some indication that Mordo could be important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. He's a potentially compelling villain, and the first Doctor Strange movie did a great job of establishing the character as sympathetic, so it's entirely possible Doctor Strange 2 won't be his last appearance in the MCU.
