Since Iron Man kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008, the franchise has introduced a lot of characters. While some have stuck around, there's a lot that have disappeared over the years for a variety of reasons. We've compiled a list of the fifteen character Marvel Studios seems doesn't really use anymore.

One of the characters want to focus on is Erik Selvig. Granted, the character has played a role in Brandon T. Snider's tie-in book Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War: The Cosmic Quest, actor Stellan Skarsgard hasn't reprised his role as the scientist for quite a long time despite how important he was to the Thor franchise and first Avengers film. The last time he appeared in any capacity was during Avengers: Endgame, when a screen at Avengers HQ revealed he was missing following the snap.

Although some of these characters have since been mentioned in the MCU (and Natalie Portman even appeared in Avengers: Endgame thanks to archival footage), there's no indication they're ever going to play a major part in the universe again. However, there's always a chance they might in some way become key parts again.
