Following her first solo film earlier this year, Avengers: Endgame is going to see Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel finally joining up with the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It's clear that she's going to be integral to defeating Thanos and reversing the snap, but is there a chance we might get to see the two battle one on one before the events of Avengers: Infinity War?

We know that Thanos destroyed Xandar to get the Power Stone, but it seems a bit odd that the movie actually skipped that over. Considering Carol Danvers' mission at the end of Captain Marvel saw her going into space, it seems entirely possible that she might have played some role in that fight. This might really end up making sense from a story standpoint for a lot of reasons, including the introduction of Richard Rider/Nova.

Check out the video below for more on the theory that Captain Marvel and Thanos will duke it out over the Power Stone.

It's not totally clear what role Thanos will play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward, so it's entirely possible that this movie will serve as his final appearance. However, there's currently a movie based on The Eternals in the works, so it's possible he might play a role in that film. As for Captain Marvel, her box office haul -- which is already over $1 billion -- pretty much guarantees that she'll get a sequel, though the setting for that isn't clear.
