Tony Stark was one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most important figures, having essentially launched the entire endeavor with 2008's Iron Man. However, after more than a decade, Tony died during the events of Avengers: Endgame so as to stop Thanos and his army from destroying Earth. Over the course of his life, Tony used a number of incredibly powerful suits of armor that allowed him to become a hero, but there are a lot of overpowered versions of Iron Man from the comics that we never got to see in the MCU. In this video, we're going to break down some of those overpowered armors that the live-action Tony didn't get to wear.

Over the course of his time in the MCU, Tony constantly tried to improve on his Iron Man armor, making it increasingly small, compact and easy to access. Eventually, a version of Tony creates a sort of hologram armor, which essentially hides the fact he's wearing a suit until he's actually touched or hit. This armor ends up solving a number of MCU problems.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it's not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there's a good indication the characters Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there's not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. However, with the rumored exception of a cameo in Black Widow using footage from Captain America: Civil War, it's unlikely Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man at any point in the foreseeable future.
